directive during the commissioning of
projects worth multi-millions of naira in Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area of the state, applauded the local government chairman, Okon Tom Osung for imbibing the spirit of uncommon transformation in his locality, describing him as the best far.
At the inauguration of a Community
Hall, Eyo Ekpifie in the local Government area, Akpabio remarked: “This is a big lesson to all that when you are given an opportunity to lead in a particular office, you must perform well. I’m impressed with the project and the state chairman has put on a
performance applauded by the entire
state. He has also put in his sincerity
and passion to serve the people”.
At the commissioning of the Oruko
junction roundabout and the Unity Hall, Oruko, the Governor said: “This
junction was initially impossible and
impassable for people to pass through
it but today it is now constructed to be
used by humanity. Also the unity hall is
built to bring together 18 villages of the local government area for them to
deliberate on the progress and
development of the area, which I
believe would bring peace to the local
government area”.
At the new ultra modern Secretariat
Complex, Urue Offong, Chief Akpabio
stated “The Chairman has indeed made the state proud and being a PDP
member, he has also made the party
proud because PDP as a party believes
in changing the lives of the people.
And today the local government area is a shiny star to other local government
area in the state”.
During an official reception, Governor
Akpabio said his visit to the local
government area was to endorse what
the chairman and his executive
members had executed through the
projects, pointing out: “What the
chairman had done is a direct result of
the uncommon transformation in the
state.
The local government has taken a
step to indicate that good governance is working in the state”.
The state Governor also inspected the
erosion control/intervention project
along Eyulor Road. The chairman of Urue Offong/Oruko, Osung said the projects were completed within six months from the SURE-P funds which the Governor directed payment from the Office of the state Accountant-General, attributing the on-going efforts of transforming the local government area to the support of his executive members and the staff of the council.
#Osung hinted that the projects were
conceived and executed through
revenue generation, human
empowerment and infrastructural
development to meet specific needs.
He said the local government area is
committed to the ideals of good
governance anchored on integrity,
transparency, probity, selfless service
and prompt service delivery as
espoused by Governor Akpabio.
