2015 AKWA IBOM GUBER RACE:CAN MR.UDOM EMMANUEL BE RIGGED TO POWER?.
It is crystal clear that the current SSG,Mr.Udom Emmanuel,cannot contest and win any free and fair electoral contest in the state.Even in Onna local government where he hails from,he cannot contend with the structures of his kinsman,Bishop Samuel Akpan.Since 2008,Bishop Akpan has been firmly in-charge of the political structures of that place.So,it will be suicidal,fool-hardiness and efforts in futility for the new SSG and those behind his ambition to think he can emerge overnight and dislodge the existing political structures of the place and he will be a walk-over to Bishop Akpan in any electoral contest in Onna local government.Lest my motives in this article are misinterpreted,let me state clearly that am not projecting any aspirant.My intention here is to show that the speculated governorship ambition of the SSG is suicidal and dead-on-arrival.Himself and the few people behind it are on suicide mission.

As insinuated by some political contractors,the SSG and the cartel behind his ambition may be banking on rigging,manipulating and skewing the party nomination process to favor him because they know that given a free and fair contest,he cannot poll up to 3% of the total votes at the party primaries.And this brings us to the question of the day,''CAN MR UDOM EMMANUEL BE RIGGED TO POWER?''.This question can be answered in the negative because you cannot rig or manipulate electoral process where you are not popular.You cannot rig where you are overwhelmed by those opposed to you.I still do not believe the insinuation that the cartel is working on the orders of the governor.It is an irony of history that Governor Akpabio would repeat the mistake of his predecessor and it is a fact of history that Obong Attah's mistake,choice of unpopular candidate was Akpabio's blessing in the 2006 governorship primaries of the party.Despite the unpopularity and popular resentment against his son-in-law and anointed candidate,Dr.Udoma Ekarika,Obong Attah was banking on his powers of incumbency and influence on the party leadership in the state to manipulate,rig and skew the nomination process of the party to favor him.So,public opinion did not matter to him but today he is full of regrets.

It can be stated without any fear of contradiction that nine out of every ten member of the party have never known,seen nor had any kind of relationship,association or affiliation with the man and you cannot entrust your mandate to an unknown man.As a politician,you must have known,related and trusted someone before you can stake your vote with him.As at 2006,there was no local government in this state that Governor Akpabio did not have at least on hundred believers,foot soldiers,friends,associates,supporters.That was why he could run and win the race against the interest of the sitting governor.But in the case of the current SSG,there is no local government that he could boast of two believers,foot soldiers or friends.I stand to be corrected or proven wrong.

The cartel is bragging that they are in-charge of the party structures in the state and as such they will hand-pick delegates to the governorship nomination congress,camp them at a certain location,pay them in hard currencies,like zombies,direct them to vote Mr.Udom Emmanuel and bus them to the venue of the primaries and supervise how the delegates vote.Clap hands for them.

There are desperate moves by the cartel to package and introduce some politicians to the SSG but this man still do not know them.A story is told a certain state legislator who has been introduced to the SSG three times and on three public occasions the man cannot recognise the state legislator and he was snubbed by man the cartel is inducing and blackmailing him to support for governor.That is just one of many of such cases.

There are five local government chairmen in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district who were introduced to the man in an arrangee arrangement but were embarrassed when they met him at a public function and he could not recognise them.

How many state and chapter officers of the party does he know?.Not up to two.I stand to be corrected or proven wrong.How then will the cartel rig him to power?.

But I know of certain governorship aspirants who have gone far in cultivating,nurturing and sustaining relationships with the members and leaders of the party at all levels,negotiating and striking deals with them and have been intensifying their grassroots mobilization and I also nobody would want to support an unknown person.
