This was the position of the Executive Chairman, Mkpat Enin Local Government Council, Hon. Ephraim Akpan, in a phone interview with the reporter shortly after President Jonathan inaugurated Gas processing facility at Uquo, performed ground breaking of 1.5 Million Dollar Methanol processing plant in Ibeno, inaugurated 7km Goodluck Jonathan Boulevard in Uyo, inspected the Olympic size stadium and dualized Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road, amongst others.
The Mkpat Enin council boss expressed delight that Mr. President has again visited the State to assess and appreciates the Uncommon Transformation made possible by the can-do governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio.
Hon. Akpan observed that with the inauguration of the Gas facility as well as the establishment of a mega Petro-chemical plant, the State is set for another round of massive employment of her teeming youth.
He expressed happiness that investments in the industrial sector will in no distance time impact positively on the economy of the State.
Akpan thanked Governor Akpabio for channeling the State’s resources to highly rewarding investments for the benefit of the people.
He noted that the State Chief Executive has positioned Akwa Ibom as a destination of choice and as a business hub in the entire gulf of Guinea.
The Council Boss while stressing that the milestone achievements of President Jonathan in the country have overshadowed whatever challenges the Nation is facing, appealed Mr President to declare his intention to run the forthcoming Presidential election, saying Mkpat Enin people in particular and Akwa Ibom in general are solidly behind Jonathan in 2015.
Hon. Ephraim Akpan who said he had since keyed into the Uncommon Transformation spirit of Governor Akpabio, announced some of his administration’s projects earmarked for inauguration soon to include: Gas and Oil Academy and a Ultra-modern Health Center in Nya Odiong as well as a-42 metre Solar powered borehole across the entire Mkpat Enin.
